our clients at Netflix reached out to the digital & social team at BOND* to think outside the box with marketing their upcoming documentary about the college admissions scandal, Operation Varsity Blues. due to the sensitivity of the topics being discussed in the documentary, we were looking for something to make a statement but not seem overly flashy.
The Creative
originally intended to be executed on Instagram, we created a “shoppable ad” promoted on Twitter that creates the impression you can buy your way into college. by clicking the link, users are taken directly to the Operation Varsity Blues information page via Netflix.
